The Lore

I made the synth melody in this song trying to catch the feel of old demos on the Amiga, with plans to make a song about that. But those plans derailed and morphed into this instead. So, VNV Nation is one of those guys I have been listening to for several decades. Love his style of dark melancholic industrial dance. So I thought I would have a stab at a cover version. Sometimes you just have to sing I guess.

How it was made

It was made in FLStudio 10 with these VST instruments:

Vocals were recorded on a RØDE NT1-A microphone. Vocals were mixed and layered in Adobe Audition CS5.5. There are obviously quite a lot of effects on my voice, but I can’t really say I remember how I did it. I can see from my project file that I used KarmaFX Reverb and Deelay on it, but I suspect I may have used Celemony Melodyne for the pitch effects, as that has often been my go-to software for voice corrections.
