The Lore

I made a few version of this one, the first was just called Chryogenic Fire, and the version on this page is the last (New Club Mix) as I called it. Fun thing about this song is that it has unintentionally the same bassline as Children by Robert Miles – which as I discovered at one point. So I did a combined version of the two called Chryogenic Children five years later. Also I am very aware that chryogenic is spelled wrong, but we are waaay too far into the weeds to change that now.

Fun fact about FastTracker II

Even though FT2 stopped being developed in the late 90s, fans kept it alive. Today, there are modern recreations like FastTracker II Clone that behave almost exactly like the original—down to quirks and bugs. You also have the modern OpenMPT and the very advanced ReNoise that does it all and more. Many electronic musicians, like me, and game composers got their start in FT2. It wasn’t just software—it was basically a gateway into music production for an entire subculture.
