10 stars ok, if you havnt figured it out by now, im a sucker for the more “ancient” things” i think this is amazing. GOOSEBUMPS!!!!!! seriously, i just heard the vocals from the intro to doom, and it gave me CHILLS IT WAS SO PERFECT!. oh please make more awesome “ancient” stuff man.

Great voices… Exactly as in Energize, the voice sample is very well used ! The pads are just…wonderful ! Too bad the passage is too short…
The rest of the song is a bit repetitive, because there is no real lead, just a melody playing over and over again with pads and the same bass… it’s why you don’t get a 10 for this one ;).

The Lore

Just decided during christmas vacation in 2006 that it was time to remix my old tracker song End of Days for no reason what so ever. And that is all, sometimes you just make something to make something. No great idea, no reason – just boredom or something. So did a little sampling and a little experimenting and off I go.

How it was made

It was made in FLStudio 8 with these VST instruments:

Pretty straightforward this one. Looking at the old project files there isn’t much to report. Just a boy having fun making his EDM. Did a lot of manual arpeggio work and layered pads, as well as try to build some custom drum transitions and stuff. Just busywork. A filler track. Not the best I’ve done, but it’s allright.

In the year 2026.
Archelogoists working in the Nevada desert,
discovered a portal to an ancient city on Mars.

They call this portal The Ark.

20 years later we are still struggling to understand why it was built,
and what happened to the civilization that built it.

Did not know this before I researched it to credit properly for this page, but turns out it is Rosamund Pike who did the voice samples. And they are from the intro to the movie Doom from 2005. A movie that was a mistake. Yes. It is so much bullshittery, and frankly offensive. But hey. Good voice samples.
