Eclipse (Nightcore Remix)

I only cover or remix what I love, and Apoptygma Berzerk is definitely on that list. I have maybe 10 tracks from them I would like to do something with. If they don’t kill me for doing it. I remember when I released this on YouTube back in 2008 and the tubes had private messaging, I got a note from the official channel of Apop telling me “APOP LOVES YOU”. Ofcourse that is lost to time now that Google has killed that feature, but it was pretty huge for my young self back then. Ah memories.

How it was made

It was made in FLStudio 7 with these VST instruments:

Oh yeah I was feeling it when I made this one. Got a real good thumping beat and bassline going, busy arpeggios and a massive synth pad that just worked. Had tons of fun recording vocals and found out my voice is pretty similar to the singer in Apoptygma, so that also worked. I do not remember why I did alternate verses with effects on my voice, but I see from my project files that I used Antares AVOX Throat and Duo for that. Would be better if I didn’t, but I thought it was cool. Fuck it.

Anyway, my computer could not handle this at all and crashed several times near the end. Remember I just had to finish the song not to go mental, everything was so slow. So the mastering is kinda lacking on this one. Opening this project today however, and my computer barely cares. So might be time to revisit this one. I still dig it to this day. One of my favorites of my own stuff.
