The Lore

One summer day in 2007 we were hanging out in the forums on my old website called Whinerz.com, and I got to talking music with one of the board members called Morten. He was working on a track called “DJ Reven – Relax” and was apparantly stuck. So we decided I should have a go at it and see what I could come up with. And that is what I did, and this is what I came up with.

How it was made

It was made in FLStudio 7 with these VST instruments:

I don’t remember all that much, but here goes. I wanted to use the synth pluck from Toca’s Miracle by Fragma, and I wanted the song to be upbeat and fit for summer parties. So there are crowd-samples in here to space it out. I also go all over the place with instrumentation and rythm. Breakbeat sections and everything. The voice samples are from EVE Online, the icelandic space MMO.

The Lyrics

Ruled by a handful of mega corporations.
The Caldari State is the epitome of civil duty and efficiency,
where ruthless capitalism
leaves no room for human rights or feelings.

They are brutally efficient fighters.
Giving the opponents no chance of retaliation.

Through grit and superior technology.
The State fought the much larger Gallente Federation
to a standstill.

Who is Terraformer?

I have tried several times to reach out to the dude now, but he is not responding anymore. So probably not interested in contributing to the lore on this unfortunately. I can’t be arsed to try anymore either. So we shall rely on my memory. His name is Morten Tangjerd, and he went by the name DJ Reven when I met him. I then invented the name Terraformer for him to use as a featured name on the track. Case closed.
