The Lore

Sash! was one of those groups that just kept on pumping out hits. They were a staple in every alcohol fueled party and on every mp3 collection in our cars. So there is nothing more to this than that. Just wanted to make a version of one their songs.

How it was made

It was made in FLStudio 6 with these VST instruments:

BPM was set to 135 on this one, and I remember I set out to make a cover as close to the original as I could. I wanted to recreate some of the rythmic synths and see what I could come up with. I was also having fun testing out a new VST from Native Instruments called Absynth, which is the lead melody. At some point I decided we should have vocals in this, so those were written and recorded – for better or for worse. It is a thing that happened one lovely weekend in 2006.

“Ecuador” is a eurodance classic produced by German DJ and record production team Sash! featuring fellow German DJ Rodriguez. It was released in April 1997 by labels X-It, Mighty and Multiply Records as the third single from their debut album, It’s My Life – The Album (1997). A staple at every party back then.
