17 years later and i still get nostalgia from listening to this and the best thing is that your still alive man i remember when i first heard this song and it was a video called if super mario characters were real and it featured this song thank you for being part of my chlidhood

Damn, that is a really long time i didn’t heard this song. I was just going through random songs and then i saw this song, and i was like: Is it what i think it is? And it was. The Lore

Forever Gamer was one of those spontanious happy accidents that just happened. Never planned, just a burst of creativity one day. A friend of mine, lovingly called Xenomorph online, sent me one of his many FLStudio projects and told me he thought this melody he had made had potential. I thought so too and promised to have a go at it and see where it went. So lyrics were written and a theme emerged. A song about gaming. And that was it basically. I got to work and produced what you hear today. Recorded the vocals on an old RØDE NT1-A microphone and added some sound effects from a few Nintendo games. And to top it all off, the theme from Super Mario as a closer. This was before copyright was a thing, so I didn’t think much of it. Released it on Newgrounds and Youtube – and had a hit on my hands. Fun.

Who is Xenomorph?

Real name is Lars Erling Bolstad, probably my oldest friend. Back when we were kids on the trackers making shitty tunes in FastTracker – I called myself DjDark and he called himself DjLiquid. Then as we got older and had to get serious (riiight) artist names, he ended up being ‘Xenomorph’. He never got passed the amateur hobby aspect of making music and has never released anything publically. You can reach him on our Discord or at his Youtube channel @Bolstad82.

We did some digging around, and found the original file. It was on both our drives still actually, I just didnt remember what it was called. So we downloaded FlStudio 6 and got it exported to mp3. Good or bad, here it is. History must be preserved.
