Set out to make another song with vocals, but for some reason I didnt want to sing myself this time around. Maybe I was sick. So I decided to play around with speech synthesizers instead. Why the choice went to remixing something from Chrono Trigger was made – I don’t remember, But everybody loves Chrono Trigger.

It was made in FLStudio 4 with these VST instruments:

• Native Instruments Pro-53
• Image-Line Sytrus
• Image-Line FL Keys
• WillowTalk TTS

The fun thing making this was getting the robotic speech synthesizer to pronounce and sing. I was using a program called WillowTALK for that. You can find an archived version of it on this disc. Anyway, just typing in the words will not work, so you have to massage the pronounciations until you get it right. And when you have that nailed it is time to get every word in the correct key, and then start stitching it all together to a cohesive lyric. Experimenting and get some fun results was the point of this.

The soundtrack from Chrono Trigger ofcourse. Specifically track number four, “Peaceful Days” (やすらぎの日々), by Yasunori Mitsuda. It is one of those soundtracks that make a game what it is. Fun fact, Mistsuda actually suffered a hard drive crash that lost around forty in-progress tracks during production. That has to suck.
