Remix of probably the most well known tracker melody for those of us who dabbled in it. And that is “Aryx” by Karsten Koch from 1995.

The Lore

Everybody (into tracker music) knows this melody. There are hundreds of remixes and edits. And this one is mine. I even recorded some vocals for this. A robotic sounding intro. Cringe ofcourse, very cringe – like everything was back then. I remember wanting to structure it differently and give it more of an energetic beat.

Module it was based on

The reason everybody into tracking has heard this melody, is because it was bundled with releases of Modplug Tracker as a tutorial / showcase. It was made by Karsten Koch all the way back in 1995, and the title was Aryx. It was made in Space Tracker 1.0 Beta, and you can download the original file here.

Module it was based on

I found the original module on TraxInSpace, which was an old website where we used to upload and share tracker music. It was called Escape to the Stars, and was made by Captain Trip in 1998. Not much more info on this guy, other than that he was a member of a group called Interface. Download his module here.
