RETRO AT ITS BEST !!!! Awesome Remix of a tune i used to listen to for Hours on end an old C64 game which was where Gaming music became legendary and u done full justice to martin galway hope he is as impressed with your work as i am hopefully u will work on a few more classics in the future. The Lore

Yes, so 8 whole minutes huh? Better be worth it. But I don’t think it is unfortunately. This is another one of those weird ones that just happened, and I just stuck to my guns until it was finished so I could get something released. I think the main lead is annoying, it is too long, the intro is cringe, the whole thing is bloated and it’s not really faithful to the original. But … it is a thing I did, and we are not hiding anything what so ever up in here. The groove is solid at least. And some people do like it.

How it was made

It was made in FLStudio 7 with these VST instruments:

Looking at the project files I can tell this was a lot of work. Some cool things were attempted and some learning was probably achieved. The new thing never tried before on this one was somewhat realistic harmonica. Got that done using real samples played through NI Kompakt. I also did record the vocals on a RØDE NT1-A and mixed it up with a whole lot of effects in Adobe Audition. Pretty cringe intro on this one. But hey, different times back then. Innocent good times.

In 1986, Sensible Software released a pretty sweet shoot’em up game on the Commodore 64 called Parallax. It featured a soundtrack by now the righfully worshipped SID legend Martin Galway.
