FLStudio 5.0.2 shipped in january 2005, and with it came a folder with projects, tutorials and demos you could check out for inspiration. One of those was “Freda & Toby – Maybe.flp” that included full vocals stems of verse and chorus. And that was a new thing for a lot of people, including me. So ofcourse I had to do a remix to see how that worked. And I am not alone in that. There are thousands of remixes of Maybe out there. Without a doubt my most unoriginal song.

It was made in FLStudio 5 with these VST instruments:

• Novation V-Station
• Image-Line Wasp
• Image-Line 3x Osc
• Image-Line Fruity Slicer

Absolutely nothing special about this one. Everything was prepared for me. The fun thing was to put my own spin on the material and actually integrate clean vocal stems into the mix. Came up with a few extra melodies and such, but this is nothing but a bland remix of a bland song. Another learning experience.

“Fred & Toby – Maybe” came included with FLStudio 5. Doing some more research I found out that Toby Emerson is the founder of Black Octopus Sound that creates sample packs and preset kits for producers. Freda was harder to find information about, as her website is closed down. I do believe this is her YouTube channel.
