The Lore

This has to be one of the first things I actually made in a modern DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Not exactly modern perhaps, because this was before FLStudio became FLStudio, and was simply named Fruityloops – not even remotely being what it is today. It did the job and I loved it. And it wasn’t as cumbersome as Cubase SX2 for instance. Obviously I can’t remember a thing about the project anymore, as it is decades ago, but I do remember being very proud of it. It was 100% original work and I made absolutely everything on my own, including the cringe vocals.

How it was made

It was made in Fruityloops 3.4 with these VST instruments:

I believe this one was created using only built-in instruments in Fruityloops. I do not remember if the horn sound was instrument or sample anymore unfortuantely, as I can’t locate the original project files anymore. Lost on some dead harddrive along the road I guess. I recorded the vocal sample myself and edited it in Wavelab, which was the Cool Edit Pro alternative for try-hards at the time. Good stuff.
