The Lore

This got made at a weird time in my life. As I was making this I realized that this is the last song I made for several years. I don’t remember quite why, but I think it was related to taking the exam as an electrician and telecommunications engineer and lot of IRL stuff happening. Music got put on hold for a good while. I do however love the theme I cover here. The soundtrack for the game Lost Patrol on the Commodore Amiga takes me waaay the hell back to late evenings in my childhood playing it under the stairs in my childhood home. Classic.

How it was made

It was made in FLStudio 12 with these VST instruments:

I remember wanting to cover the original as closely as possible, but then it just became a pretty mellow dance tune as we went by. I think I was inspired by a song I liked at the time, which was Jurgen Vries – The Theme. I also remembering watching Vietnam war documentaries and sampling audio from that to use as samples. All in all I don’t think I did the original justice, and I should give it another go one day. But as far as available remixes of this theme goes, I think I did one of the better.

Chris Glaister made this tune in 1990, working for Shadow Development and Ocean Software, for the game Lost Patrol on the Commodore Amiga. It was the only song the game had and played continously throughout the entire playthrough. It set the tone so well, and is probably one of my all time favorite tunes from the period.
